Queiroz Galvão Energia organized events with communities to celebrate Children’s Day
More than 1000 children who attend public schools in the communities close to Queiroz Galvão Energia’s wind farms had the opportunity to celebrate Children’s Day with a lot of music and fun. On 20 and 21 October, QG Energia held two events in the municipalities of Caldeirão Grande (Piauí state), where the Caldeirão I and Caldeirão II Wind Power Complexes are located, and Ceará-Mirim (Rio Grande do Norte state), where the Riachão Wind Power Complex is located.
In the two municipalities, Elementary and Middle School children aged 4 to 12 attended music shows and story-telling performances about the local culture, a practice that provides the chance to develop imagination, enrich vocabulary and share experiences.
In Caldeirão Grande, Piauí, the show was performed by Grupo Cafundó, a troupe originally from the capital city, Teresina, to an audience of 760 children of the municipal childcare center. And in the municipality of Ceará-Mirim, in Rio Grande do Norte, the Tropa Trupe company, from the capital city, Natal, used circus elements, such as juggling and clowns, to tell their stories to 560 children of the town’s Espaço Estação Cultural who attended the event.
In addition to the performances, all children were given a bag with a snack and a gift – a pinwheel full of candy and sweets. “It was a very special moment to mark this date in a fun and cheerful way, just as Children’s Day should be”, Max Xavier, Queiroz Galvão Energia CEO, pointed out.
